That Saudi teenager who ran from her abusive family is one very brave young woman. Until arriving in Canada, and most likely for the foreseeable future, she will live in fear that someone will be out to get her for dishonouring her family. Nothing like treating women like cattle.
Canada was also on the mark allowing her to come here, while swiftly cutting through the red tape, unlike Australia who could not decide what to do.
Given all of the above, there is one, shall we say fly in the ointment, brought on by Justin Trudeau who just cannot get it right.
Sending the foreign affairs minister, Chrystia Freeland too personally welcome and field questions from reporters looks like he was milking this for all the free publicity this young woman can give Trudeau.
Freeland said, “I believe in lighting a single candle. Where we can save a single person, where we can save a single woman, this is a good thing to do.” Pluuueezze. Using this young woman as a live poster for Trudeau’s election campaign is disgusting.
In the end, it went back to the same story. Freeland, no doubt at the behest of Trudeau, personally invited women and girls around the world to come to Canada. While this is very noble, it is also milking the cow for everything its worth.
So what should they have done? Whisked this woman through a back door into a dark car and get her to a safe place. Not parade her like a prize.
If you have even a whiff of ever being arrested for any kind of drug infraction, may we suggest that you stay way from China until the current brouhaha blows over.
Thanks to Canada not figuring out quickly enough that arresting the owner of Huawei’s daughter would cause, shall we say, cause a diplomatic geffulment, we now find ourselves with China trying to bully Canada. They want Meng Wanzhou released and now Canada is caught between ticking off Trump or the Chinese.
So we are now going head to head with Saudi Arabia and China. Anyone else that Trudeau thinks he can start up with? His diplomatic skills are zip for getting us into both jackpots. Re the Saudi young woman, had he not rubbed their faces in the fact that she sought asylum, perhaps things would be different. Trudeau is truly an idiot.
Snow, sleet and cold look really good when compared with uncontrolled forest fires and now, in what many call heaven on earth, California, deadly mudslides.
Today, deputies went door-to-door telling residents to get out before the next round of rain hits Southern California or risk being swept away in a mudslide. Best they listen.
This next piece is not only priceless, it shows how empty and ridiculous liberals are. Areva Martin, a black woman, is a CNN legal analyst and was appearing as a guest on Fox News. She was speaking with someone by the name of David Webb.
The exchange began with Webb asking, “Shouldn’t people’s requirement, their primary requirement, regardless of ethnicity or regardless of net worth, be that they are capable of covering politics?
Her response: Well, David, that’s a whole ‘nother long conversation about white privilege, the things that you have the privilege of doing, that people of color don’t have the privilege of.”
Webb asked, “How do I have the privilege of white privilege?”
Martin patronized, “David, by virtue of being a white male you have white privilege. This whole long conversation, I don’t have time to get into —”
Ready for this one: Webb interrupted, “Areva, I hate to break it to you, but you should’ve been better prepped. I’m black.” Uh oh. There goes the neighbourhood.
In this day and age, being white – male or female – automatically means you are privileged. And being a male in the #metoo movement automatically means you are either a pig or predator.
Both are extreme, as is the Women’s March. Exaggerated, extreme groups usually self-destruct as those running them are very often simply full of themselves, as this Martin woman is.
Theresa May lost her Brexit vote. The truth is, people were duped into voting to leave the EU. Promises by Jeremy Corbyn, an extreme left-winger, were simply never going to be met by leaving the EU. Many Brits say that if they had to vote again, they would vote to stay in the Union.
Right now, Great Britain is in turmoil on every level. The worst thing for any economy is uncertainty and right now, the British are writing a new chapter on that.
May will never resign without a huge fight. Case in point: Corbyn was going to call for a vote of no confidence which would have resulted in the calling of an election. Guess what? May beat him to the punch. She called for that vote herself which will take place tomorrow.
The bottom line here is that Britain’s exit from the European Union is going to be a very messy affair and in the end, will hurt Britain more than any other country.
