In the small quiet hours of Sunday morning, we sent out a special edition of Blanche after hearing of the cold-blooded executions of six hostages from October 7 in the tunnel hell of gaza.
Yesterday we, as millions of others, watched the funeral of Hersh Goldberg Polin of righteous memory. We saw pictures of some of the other funerals.
The only words that can come even close to what we watched are heart-wrenching and shattering. We kept thinking that we will never, ever be able to make sense of the senseless. Nor do we want to.
And then we thought about this...
The Jewish people are different from all other peoples. We are one people, beating with one heart and one soul. No other peoples in the world are like that. And because of that, we will survive these dark hours.
There will be, as yesterday, excruciatingly painful moments. There will be moments of despair. There will be moments of incredulous dismay on how so many people living in democracies can support hamas and their evil.
We are on the side of goodness and kindness and in the end, goodness and kindness triumphs over evil. We have thousands of years of suffering to prove this.
It behooves every Jew and every G-d fearing non-Jew in the world to beseech G-d and ask Him how long we will have to wait for an an end to the special kind of agony we are watching play out in real time. We pray that it happens today.

No you haven't because he never uttered a word about it. Not. One. Word.
On a basic human level he should have said something. He had to be living in an igloo in Greenland for the past year not to have known about Hersh Goldberg Polin's parents speaking all over the world about their son.
His foreign minister Melanie Joly condemned the murders then called for a ceasefire.
How about just stopping at the murders? Why must she add there has to be a ceasefire? Right. Now that hamas butchers killed six hostages because they knew they were going to be found - now is the right time for Israel to stop fighting. We have no words for the fools that are running our country.
They both have manure for brains and are out of their league in the world of international politics.

We have an employee that was hired 3.5 years ago. She was given tasks but completed none of them. She had a performance review and failed it so she backstabbed her elderly employer.
Now she is demanding a promotion in November but refuses to interview for the new position.
She promises if she gets the promotion she will do all of the tasks she didn't do before. But she won't do them now in order to force us to give her the promotion.
What should we do?

And now for Kamala's 'interview' on CNN with Dana Bash...
In the end, after all is said and done, Kamala Harris is up in the polls (if you believe them) because she is not Joe Biden.
She was shamed into doing her first interview which was exactly what we thought it would be: ridiculous.
It opened trying to show Harris as a nice, normal, 'joyful' person via photo ops. What does that have to do with the interview? Nothing.
Her handlers clearly thought that the optics of an empty diner with zero background for the interview was a good idea. It wasn't. It looked like she was in a place that was either moving in or out. If their objective was to make her look like one of the people it was a fail.
Dana Bash did exactly what we thought she would do. Lob softball questions with zero followup.
Harris passed the test of this interview because a) she didn't cackle and b) she didn't serve up a word salad. Given that, her answers were, for the most part, a nothing-burger. This is as low as the bar gets.
She was unable to respond to simple questions: What would you do on your first day in office? She fumbled through her words and said nothing.
And the fact that her running mate Tim Walz was sitting beside her looked exactly as we said. That she needed a babysitter. He said very little, just sat there virtually holding her hand.
All in all, if she does get elected it will not be because of her brains, policies, charisma or personality. And for sure not because of her grating, whiny voice. It will be solely on the fact that she is not Joe Biden.
Lest you think students are not being targeted in universities again this fall, think again.
In the university of Pittsburgh Jewish students had bottles thrown at them. Here in Montreal - one of the bastions of antisemitism - the fools who are hamas sympathizers ripped up all the newly planted grass on the front yard of McGill.
Why were the police were not called? It takes a long time to remove that much grass. Where was the dean of McGill? Or the president? Where was Plante?
After the fact, McGill and local and provincial politicians denounced the vandalism. Mayor Valérie Plante said “intimidation, violence and vandalism” have no place in Montreal. Déry called the incident “completely unacceptable.”
And? Empty, silly words that do zero to stop any of these fools from both destroying public property and harassing Jewish students.
As Golda Meir so aptly said, if the arabs put down their guns the fighting would stop. If Israel put down their guns there would be no more Israel.
Get in the game peeps. It's time to start getting very involved in what is going on at our local universities. Perhaps it's time for the Jewish community here to unite and start prowling the halls of those institutions. Walking the Jewish kids to a from their classes.
Israel should not put down their guns nor should we in the diaspora put down our fists.
In fact, it's well past the time to mobilize here and show those who pretend they are loving hamas when in fact they using that rhetoric to mask that they are Jew-haters.
We are stronger than they are. Who is up for this challenge?
Remember when then governor Andrew Cuomo ordered covid positive patients to be sent to nursing homes - at the height of covid? Remember that the nursing homes had nothing to deal with these people and put them in with the regular patient population?
On March 25, 2020, then-Gov. Cuomo’s office issued a mandate requiring nursing homes in New York to accept COVID-positive patients on short notice, whether they were equipped to isolate and care for them or not. The policy led to nearly 13,000 nursing home deaths – or about 14% of New York’s pre-pandemic nursing home population
It appears Cuomo is going to have to say out loud what he did, even though he always tried to deny it.
His administration then lied undercounting the deaths by including thousands of nursing home patient deaths with hospital deaths since the patients had been transferred to hospitals before they died.
It gets worse: Cuomo claimed he was unaware of the March 25 mandate until a month after it had been issued. He then reportedly claimed that nursing homes had “an escape valve” and were not actually forced to admit COVID-positive patients.
He said his only regret was that nursing homes were “confused” by the mandate, before clarifying that he didn’t “accept the premise that they were actually confused by it".
Hopefully, he will get his just desserts when he has to testify on September 10, in front of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.
He literally got away with murder.
Breaking News: Pierre Fitzgibbon, Legault's superstar minister of the economy, innovation and energy, is expected to explain his decision Wednesday.
He was involved in multiple scandals over the past few years and Legault kept covering his behind.
He is not only leaving his ministerial positions, he is giving up his seat.
There will be one of two scenarios here: He's sick or he is involved in the mother-of-all scandals and has to walk away. Stay tuned.
